Meet Burlesque Performer Ladie P Cumeleon
1. How did you come up with your stage name?
Long story, lol. Maybe ask me about the P part, if you really want to know. Cumeleon is because I’m covered in tattoos and try to blend in when it actually makes me stand out.
2. How did you find out about burlesque?
I had recently moved to Laramie, WY and made some friends in the roller derby community and they had mentioned burlesque and BAM!
3. What inspired you to perform?
The adrenaline rush of being on stage in front of hundreds of audience members as well as showing off my type of figure. It’s extremely empowering.
4. What style of burlesque do you perform?
I am currently not performing, I now photograph other performers. However, when I performed I would always create different themed dances.
5. How long were you a burlesque performer?
I did burlesque for 5 years, but since I have kept involved with either helping the other performers or photographing shows.
6. Were you a solo or group act?
I was part of a duo but also performed solo and in groups.
7. What is your favorite costume or thing to wear on stage?
For me I love rocking wigs on stage!!!! Makes me feel like I’m fully embodying my persona.
8. Did you make your own costumes?
I would create my bras and tassels and put together the actual outfit itself.
Check out “How To Make Pasties”, a step by step guide we made for the Burlesque Mag.
9. What fascinates you about the art of burlesque?
The fact that you can be any size and the audience will love you! When you embrace and love yourself the audience feeds off of it.
10. What are your top 3 go-to burlesque songs?
I actually still have a list of songs I haven’t performed to yet, but still want to:
Nature Boy by Aurora
Sex for Breakfast by Christina Aguilera
Like This by JoJo

11. What did you do to mentally prepare to perform?
I would blast the sexiest music I know and light a joint!
12. What is the most challenging thing about performing?
Believe it or not, the fear that you create in your own head is what makes it challenging. But, once you learn to face your fear it’s so empowering.
13. What is the weirdest experience you’ve had at a show?
I would have to say being asked to partake in a threesome, lol.
14. Who is your favorite burlesque performer?
I have ALWAYS admired Noella DeVille and of course Dita Von Tease.

15. Do you have any regrets about being a burlesque performer?
NOT ONE!! It’s an experience you will never forget.
16. What do you wish people knew about burlesque?
That is not about getting undressed and watching almost naked women dance. It’s a vibe, it’s a feeling, it’s an experience. It involves comedy, theater and sexiness.
17. What is your favorite thing about being a burlesque performer?
I would have to say the glamor of it is a blast. The costumes, makeup, music, and the community is so amazing.
18. Do you have a special self care or beauty product you can’t live without?
For me a huge self care during burlesque would be the exercise of loving myself. Beauty products would have to be GLITTER!
