While the show is, overall, a solid TV comedy, some of the most intriguing moments come from the women on the show. The main character, Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), is surrounded by strong female characters. Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) and Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) are amazing detectives and great friends. The series depicts what happens as these two women fight crime throughout the city while keeping the audience laughing with some great chemistry and supreme silliness.
