Improve Workplace Productivity with these 7 Crystals

According to Forbes.com, 1 in 5 Americans has the luxury of getting to work from a home. The rest of us go to an office space where we have little to no control over the decor, placement of our desk or who sits next to us. So, the question comes up how do you make this space work for you and promote not only productivity, but good health and mental clarity?

The time has come to think ‘Zen’ and minimalism. With both of these in your arsenal, you are able to elevate yourself above the noise and distractions of the typical workspace to a high plane of creativity, productivity and mindfulness.

Minimalism, is the reduction of things and clutter from your work space that may be hindering an effective workflow.

These could be extra files or notebooks you don’t need anymore, knick-knacks or other things brought from home. Maybe you have gifts from coworkers that you just don’t know what to do with, and don’t want to hurt their feelings by not displaying for all to see.

In Marie Kondo’s book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, she talks about removing these items from your space, but first thanking them for what they have been for you. Basically releasing any guilt you may have attached to the item along with it as you donate, recycle or throw out the piece in question.

Minimalist Misconceptions

Many people believe that minimalism is the lack of all things except the bare essentials of living, stark white walls, and no earthly possessions. That is simply not the case. Minimalism is the art of living with less. This is done through the removal of the extra, clearly defined organization (a place for everything) and the use of methods such as Feng Shui to balance and energize your space are options, too.

Empower Your Work Space with Crystals

One of the quickest, and easiest adjustments you can make to your work space is bringing in crystals. There are thousands of minerals and crystals out there, and each with unique properties and energies – it can be daunting to choose the right ones for your desk. So here are 7 crystals based on the chakra system to bring balance to your own energy, the energy in your space and create harmony for all.

The chakra system is a complex network of energy channels with 7 energy points located in the body from the base of the spine to the top of the head. In this case, “energy” is referring to your life energy and each chakra is associated with certain emotions, organs and their functions, as well as stones or minerals to help channel the different energies. Each point vibrates at a different frequency which is associated with a color, which are used for chakra meditations, by visualizing the color and focusing your energy, or “Qi” (pronounced ‘chi’) to realign or reinvigorate that point.

Here are 7 crystals for clarity and productivity based on the chakras:

Black Tourmaline

This black beauty is great at cleansing syber smog and effectively eliminating all electromagnetic waves from devices such as your computer or cell phone. It is very efficient at creating a sense of empowerment and mental clarity.

This stone activates the root chakra (Muladhara), the first chakra located at the base of your spine. Black tourmaline is known as a grounding stone and its electrical nature triggers the first and all following chakras, but also creates a complete sense of balanced power.

Citrine

Known as the stone of success, Citrine will help you find your true purpose in life. This stone opens the second chakra, or Sacral Chakra (Svadisthana) – the center of creativity and imagination helping you manifest your dreams into reality. It aids in attracting more joy and success along your journey to finding your purpose and being successful at it.

Tiger’s Eye

Keep things flowing and focused with this gem nearby. Tiger’s eye is very effective at de-scattering your brain and aiding in making confident, well-thought decisions. It works from your power center, the Solar Plexus or 3rd chakra (Manipura) which houses self-esteem and confidence.

In terms of monetary means – Tiger eye stays focused on the prize, and guides you in the direction of profits in all your business endeavors.

Green Aventurine

No business or business-minded individual should be without this in their pocket. Related to the Heart Chakra (fourth chakra or Anahata) this stone opens up our worth in receiving luck and prosperity… I mean, we all need money to live right?

Green Aventurine neutralizes stress and anxiety related to work, allowing us to stay cool, calm and collected in order to attract the success we seek. Don’t leave home without it.

Amazonite

The color of the carribean ocean, this blue green Peruvian pebble excels at eating up cyber smog and emitting other positive energy into your environment. The color and nature of this stone stimulate the 5th chakra, or Throat Chakra (Vishudha) by helping with effective communication and integrity with coworkers, especially those of the opposite sex.

Amazonite balances the male and female energies (yin and yang) making the differences between the two indistinguishable so ideas and opinions are able to flow freely.

Amethyst Cluster

The sixth chakra is known as the 3rd Eye (Ajna), its purpose is to allow us to view things and situations around us subjectively and not wrapped up in emotions. Amethyst speaks to this chakra with its various shades of purple from a soft almost clear or white color to a deep almost black purple.

It represents a sense of community and brings harmony to anyone who works with teams. Placed in the center of a table during a meeting or near a screen during a conference call – its high vibrational field will also assist with removing electromagnetic waves.

Selenite

Located at the top of the head, is the Crown Chakra (7th chakra or Sahasrara). Selenite works as guiding stone and works hard to clear any bad energy circulating around you or your workspace. It is a power house at eliminating stress and allowing you to make good choices by listening to your inner voice or intuition.

This stone is a must for high stress environments or individuals who are easily annoyed or sensitive to other people’s energies.

Leave No Stone Unturned

There are many stones out there, and may have similar properties to these. Stones like jade, moss agate, ruby, garnet and quartz are great options for increasing mental clarity and productivity. Research other stones that have these qualities to create your own, one-of-a-kind chakra stone set and bring balance to your desk, office, or home. Remember that many stones influence more than one chakra so be careful not to throw one out of balance.

Try exploring Feng Shui, Hygge or KonMarie as methods of decluttering and rebalancing your living and working spaces – and most of all, enjoy decorating your surroundings with a variety of beautiful crystals and minerals to both complement and stimulate your spaces!

Positive Vibes.
