We asked our featured burlesque performers to share their favorite and go-to products for self care, costume creation and otherwise preparing to rock in on stage. It’s a lot more than glitter and pasties (but, of course we love those too!).

Pooplunch False Eyelashes
I really like these lashes! I found that they are easy to put on and super fluffy and open. Great for the stage and also super affordable.
Elmer's Craftbond Multi-Purpose Spray as a Pasty Adhesive
A go-to for many burlesque dancers, it’s cheap and easy to use. When it comes to putting pasties on this is what I use. I stand by this. They do not fly off when twirling, at least from my experience.
Pro tip: once you spray it on let it get “tacky” for about 20 seconds then place the pasty on.
Aneco Plus Size Fishnets
Fishnets are a fun addition to the costume to show off your legs. I like to spray my legs with a little spray adhesive (very lightly) right before pulling up the fishnets. Then to finish i usually spray glitter hairspray over the fishnets and my legs. It adds a little extra sparkle when on stage.
Corsets
Corsets are hard to buy online sometimes. Make sure you have your exact measurements and that the seller offers a size chart with more than just standard sizing such as L or XXL.
NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Lip Lingerie XXL Matte Liquid Lipstick
For me a matte base lipstick is the perfect foundation for layering. I like to start my matte lips with a lip liner that matches. Once I have the liner and lipstick on, I will apply glitter glue to my lips and add the glitter to the glue. This matte lipstick brand is affordable and lasts!
MAEPEOR 4 Colors Glitter Lip Kit
Glitter lips are almost a must have in burlesque. Not only do they make your performance fun, but really make your photos stand out.
KISS Strip Eyelash
Eyelash glue is a must when it comes to applying lashes before performing. No one wants their lashes flying off halfway through a performance! I have used this one many times and it never lets me down.
Wigs
Wigs are always a must when it comes to my performances. It’s part of the fun in embodying another character and it makes for a quick, but dramatic change of looks between acts.

After applying all of that glue and glitter you’re going to want a nice cleanser to wash it off with. I like this Neutrogena eye makeup remover that works like a charm in removing false lashes after a show.
